This post is for those who are trying Oracle VM sever for the first time.
Here we are using OVS 3.0.2.
Oracle Virtual Server has mainly two components
1) OVS – Oralce virtual server
2) OVM – Oracle Virtual manager for OVS
Installation of OVS3 is very easy, anyone with little experience on Linux can do that.
For OVM, you need to run ./runInstall.sh script. There are hardly any prompts to complete OVM installation.
Once you are done with the installation of OVS & OVM, logon to OVM using http / https url.
e.g http://192.168.3.134:7001/ovm/console/faces/login.jspx
This is where you’ll be creating storage, server pool etc. Same as XenCenter.
Since this is to become lengthy, & to make this post small, I have created rough pdf which you can download & refer. If anyone is looking for a odt file to make further changes for personal use. Pl mail me
