hello dhaval              thaks 4 the help. i m currently on ddjp6 provided by u. it really works great. my question is that, what is diff. between ddjp6 and ur modified ATROM 2.6.                 please reply

    • dpthakar

ddjp6 is stocked firmware provided by Samsung, atrom is same firmware but rooted, some stocked apps removed, diff kernel to support ext fs. you can read entire change log on atrom page.

You need to check if usb tether / wifi tether is supported by ROM you are using.

my question is that, the stock ddjp6 that u have posted is it really the stock version or the rooted factory.rfs version posted on xda? they provided only the factory.rfs for i5801ddjp6 and instructed to replace it to the stock ddjp2 rom using total commander. the problem with this rom is that it is prerooted and the csc shows ddjp2 instead of ddjp6. so pls clarify….

    • http://www.linuxreaders.com/ Dhaval Thakar

this is stocked version, I saved tar file while kies was updating my sg3. csc is not updated, may be because of no updates in modem.bin. with ddjp6 there seems system related updated.

      • punk

ok dhaval i downloaded the firmware and it flashed flawlessly. i agree this is the genuine firmware. the csc shows ddjp6. thanks for uploading the firmware it really helps people with crapy internet connections :) got one more question, does this firmware supports hindi text typing? and will this phone get gingerbread ever ???

        • http://www.linuxreaders.com/ Dhaval Thakar

I am not sure about hindi typing but it reads almost all India languages. For GB, there may not be official update but will soon have stable CM7 running on it thanks to marcellusbe. You can get alpha version from following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101218

          • punk

ya God bless marcellusbe for his efforts. but till he fixes those bugs on cm7, according to u what custom rom should i use (oc/non oc) which will be stable (for daily use) and will be able to play those modded HD games by nops using chainfire 3d ?

          • http://www.linuxreaders.com/ Dhaval Thakar

I prefer nonoc Since I dont play games I prefer ATROM You can also try Kyrillos’ rom from xda

    • http://www.linuxreaders.com/ Dhaval Thakar

I guess you have not installed kies & have not connected your phone to kies. Do it once, to let windows install required drivers. disconnect & close kies, proceed with odin.
